The Best Configuration of Extraction and Performance Analysis Graphics by Rainbow Six
Rainbow Six Extraction is a multiplayer game cooperative for 3 players, developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. After delaying a million times, Rainbow Six Extraction is finally available in the main game platforms.
Extraction was originally known as Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Quarantine, and is actually a derived title by Rainbow Six Siege. The game is currently in all consoles and in PC through Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Launcher and Game Pass . The difference between Siege and Extraction is that, the first is a PVP, and the second in a full EVE title, where players must work together to fight and defeat a type of extraterrestrials similar to parasites called Achaeans.
The R6 Extraction game is based on a limited time game mode in R6 Siege in 2018, called Outbreak. That's why you will see many operators from Rainbow Six Siege. Before the beginning of any mission, you can choose your operator from a group of 18. Each operator has its own weapons and unique devices. Your work is to infiltrate you in an infested place of extraterrestrials and complete objectives, such as collecting samples, extracting materials from computers and collecting information.
Now that the basic information about the game is out of the way, let's go to the main point. Many PC users complain that Rainbow Six Extraction graphics settings confuse them and do not know what to enable and what to disable. And, do not blame them. Extraction has many graphics configurations, and even small incorrect adjustments, could destroy a player's FPS, causing problems such as random stutters, FPS falls and freezing, on the road. This is what I think is the best combination of graphics configuration for Rainbow Six Extraction:
Graphics Configuration
- Display mode: full screen
- Resolution: 1920 × 1080
- Update rate: default monitor
- V-Sync: Deactivated
- View Field: 90
- Brightness: 52%
- Quality of resolution: Fixed 100% (When selecting any of the 'Dynamic' options, the dynamic resolution will be activated, which will cause the extraction of Rainbow Six looks blurred)
- Texture Quality: Medium
- Filtering textures: linear
- NVIDIA reflex of low latency: deactivated
-
- Latency flash indicator: OFF
- NVIDIA DSS: Quality (Of course, if you have a GPU, which supports DLSS)
- Shadow Quality: Low
- Quality shading: Medium
- Reflection quality: Low
- Detail quality level: Medium
- Effects Quality: Low
- Softened: T-AA
- Nativity T-AA: 25%
- Environmental occlusion: HSBC
- Expansion Quality: Low
- Lens Effect: Flowering + Lens Flash
- ADS field depth: deactivated
It will notice a significant increase in FPS with this configuration.
Requirements of the R6 extraction system
Before moving on performance analysis, consult the official system requirements for Rainbow Six Extraction once:
Minimum requirements: Low 1080p
UPC | Intel i5-4460 / AMD Ryzen 3 1200 |
---|---|
GPU | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 4 GB / AMD RX 560 4 GB |
RAM | 8 GB (two-channel configuration) |
UDS | Windows 10 of 64 bits |
Storage | 85 GB. |
Recommended requirements: High 1080p
UPC | Intel i7-4790 / AMD Ryzen 5 1600 |
---|---|
GPU | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 6 GB / AMD RX 580 8 GB |
RAM | 16 GB (two-channel configuration) |
UDS | Windows 10 of 64 bits |
Storage | 85 GB. |
Therefore, a GTX 1660 will allow you to play in High Settings in 1080p. And I guess the requirements are aimed at no more than 60 fps. Then, looking at that, I would say that Rainbow Six Extraction is not a very light title.
Specifications of the test system
UPC | Ry zen 5 5600x. |
---|---|
GPU | ZO TAC GTX 1650 Super |
RAM | 16 GB DDR4 3200MHz. |
SSD | Samsung 970 Eve Plus 1 TB + 500 GB |
Monitor Resolution | 1920 × 1080. |
Graphics Controller | NVIDIA GAME READY V511.23 controller |
Rainbow Six Extraction Performance Analysis: with and without DLSS
minimum FPS (1% low) | Average FPS | FPS maximum --- 55FPS | 72FPS | 133fps.
First, let's look at how the game is seen with the previous configuration:
In Medium Configuration, with anti-aliasing configured in T-AA, Rainbow Six Extraction works very well, even in low-end hardware. I had no problems playing this game at my 1650 super. I tried the game in two more configurations, but I did not bother to publish the results because the GPUs were RTX 3070 and RTX 3060 Ti. Quite safe, we all know, how was that. It does not make sense to talk about GPU that are owned by no more than 3% of the total population of players. I tried to execute the game in my GTX 1050 Ti and i3 8100 configuration as well, but it finished failing each time. Therefore, I can not comment on the performance of the GTX 1050 IT with this game. If I had to guess, I would say that you should get around 45 fps in low configurations in the GTX 1050 IT.
The issue arises when it establishes the overall quality in Ultra. It is a pure fight then. I remember having dropped to 25 fps in my 3060 you and 46-47 fps in my 3070. I realized that this happens mainly due to softening configuration T-AA-4X. It is an extremely demanding scenario. Then, even if you have something like an RTX 3090, I would recommend that you keep your AA alone in T-AA. Avoid any DataMade and freezing issue.
Performance with DLSS
Now, it will be DLSS, it is a completely different story. In RTX 3060 Ti, with DLSS off and all configured in «Ultra», I obtained around 45-50 fps. As soon as I configured DLSS in «quality», I obtained an FPS Boost of almost 130 fps. The average FPS jumped from 43 FPS to 177 fps. And the integration of DLSS into this is also quite perfect. Normally, DLSS tends to make the games look sharper, to compensate for the reduction of the resolution. Fortunately, that is not the case in R6 Extraction. I already made a video about the performance of DLSS, take a look:
In general, the performance of Rainbow Six Extraction on PC is decent. They are not the most optimized games I have seen to date, I can say that. But, if you have something similar to the super GTX 1650, or even the GTX 1650, you should not have any problems to get 60 FPS constant. Whenever you are ready to lower the tone of the configuration.
That's all folks!
